Stylistically, old tom gin has a more bitter backbone than many other gin types. The botanicals are strong but there is a strong sweetness that counters.
On this gin there is a big nose of white pepper and juniper.
Very sweet at the beginning of the palate and that sweetness carries through the rest of the palate as well. This is balanced with a big backbone of bitter herb character. A big stylistic difference from a London Dry. Very good and very interesting.
